OMG its the end of July already, where has the year gone?

Its been 6 months since I purchased the shop and I am still having loads of fun. It is such a pleasure to come to work each day and meet lovely people and get to do what I enjoy the most, sewing.

Not long now before we are off on our weekend retreat and to everyone that has paid their deposit could I please have final payment by the 13th August. I cant wait to see what Libby Richardson has in store for us and if you contact the shop or come in I can give you the requirement list.

AS WE WILL BE STARTING THE RETREAT ON FRIDAY 20TH AUGUST THE SHOP WILL BE CLOSED ON FRIDAY AND SATURDAY , 20TH AND 21ST AUGUST, SORRY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE.

ALSO FOR ALL THE LADIES ATTENDING THE RETREAT , DONT FORGET TO ORGANISE TO VOTE.

I have recently acquired a whole lot of christmas fabric, some traditional some a bit different but all really nice, so if you've been thinking that you need to get onto presies for christmas you now have no excuse as the fabric is here.

There is a range of brand new fabric for all your projects in store so please come in and have a browse, I'm sure there is something that will inspire you to create.

I also have some new books in store. A Thankful Heart by Natalie Bird from The Birdhouse, has to be seen to be believed, beautiful projects for that special person in your life. Get Red Red Ready for Christmas by Natalie Ross of In stitches, lots of fun projects for your chirstmas list. Also a book thats been around for a little while, Layer Cake and Jelly Roll Charm Quilts. This is a great book with fabulous projects to use those little bundles of yummy fabric.

I am really excited about August as I have my first ad in Australian Homespun magazine. I am featuring Bronwyn Hayes new BOM quilt "Sweet Summer". Another beautiful quilt from this very talented designer. I am madly trying to finish the sample off for the shop. The quilt uses the beautiful range of fabric by Robyn Pandolph called "Beach House".

I am also featuring "Jane Austen's Bonnet Quilt" from the fabulous designer Brenda Ryan of Thimblestitch. This quilt has to be seen to be believed. The quilt consists of 20 stitcheries in which Brenda has used Cottage Garden Threads to highlight the gorgeous designs.I am also madly trying to put this one together and I am using Mary Rose fabric from Quiltgate . This quilt can be purchased as a full kit or I have broken down different packages to suit each one of you.

We have a new doll to showcase for August by the clever Vicki Leeke and I am proud to announce that the dolls name is Candy. She is very sweet and is made with a combination of felt and fabric from A Quilters Hive. Please let me know if you are interested in attending the class for this doll. The next class will be held on the 11th September.

Cost of class if $50.00 . Kit is $100.00 which includes the following

Doll face , felt for dolls body, Hair (mohair) Prisma pencils x 4 ,Doll stuffing

Stuffing Fork, doll needles , FABRIC for dolls clothing including lace.
